An uninspiring sequel to Crossed...

Eh, it was OK. I kept getting the plot mixed up with Divergent for some reason and could not remember the world established in Matched very well.

Cassia and Ky have been wrenched apart from each other, with Society abducting Ky in the dead and night. He's become a "decoy", shipped out to the borders to be killed by the Enemy. Even now, with the harsh wilderness between them, Cassia knows that she could never forget about him and settle down with Xander instead. Blinded by love, she sets out across the vast frontiers, travelling further and further away from Society's iron rule.

While on her perilous journey, Cassia swells with joy when she hears whispers about a rebellion against Society. But Ky isn't on board. On the contrary, he hates the Rising for his own reasons, reasons that he slowly reveals as the story progresses.

In this second book in the Matched trilogy, Allie Condie writes in the voices of both Cassia and Ky, giving the readers insight into the worlds of two people bound by love but with very different life stories. She also fills the novel with meaningful interpretations of the powerful ideas and symbolism in Tennyson's famous words. Strife with emotions, raw human experiences, and double-crosses, Crossed will leave readers hungry for the final installment to the trilogy. -Janvi, Teen SPL volunteer

This is the second book of Matched. It was good but I prefer the first one. But I can't wait for the final book of the story.

I like the Divergant series better but this one is alright. I actually liked this book a bit better than the first, but that might be because the characters were already established. It took me a long time to get into the first book so it probably helped that I read these back to back. I'm interested to see what happens but I'm not waiting with bated breath or anything.

I want to sacrifice this book to the desert and see how it feels.

A little confusing, switching back and forth between first person characters.

Loved how poetic her own writing was, but at the same time it was slow because of that. I didn't like how she switched back and forth between characters. I kept having to stop and remember whose point of view I was reading from. Love wilderness and outdoor survival settings.

So boring.

3 out of 5. Look, i know there is controversy and for good reason. The author really just dumps you into this and gives you zero background. She also doesn't hardly get ANYTHING done in this book.  What happened to Cassias family? Im sorry, but, the grand canyon is GINORMOUS,  if youre searching for someone there you won't truly find them. I have read 2 out of the 3 books and still don't know who the "enemy", "rebellion", or the "society" is. which is frustrating and annoying. I'm all for making us piece it together as we go, but seriously we're 2 out of 3 in. Also seriously what was with the fringe character of the boy that ran into the canyons with the girls just to die? Give us something. But also I am enjoying this series on a surface level quite a bit. I hope our questions get answered.
