I really loved Matched, so I had high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, it wasn't as good as the first one. It seems that this often happens with the second book in triologies. At first the plot moves along quickly, but then it seems to slow down and drag for awhile, and not much gets done. There's several great new characters introduced, and you get to learn a little more about the history of the Society, as well as Ky and Xander's pasts. But overall, it wasn't as strong as Matched. The Society didn't seem to loom as ominously. Still, I'll be reading the final book when it comes out.

It is amazing how much time cab be spent reading and so little happening. Everything seems to go in circles, i got dizzy. Glad that it is now multiple POV

I really, really, really wanted to like this book.

Matched was a pretty good book, whereas Crossed was... frustrating. Perhaps because I set high expectations on this.

I was really disappointed in this book.

I took so long to finish the book, because I wasn't really that excited to open it. I struggled to keep my eyes open while reading it. I had to read it at daytime so I wouldn't fall asleep. Ally Condie's writing is beautiful, but I got tired of it real quick. I had to re-read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone because I got so bored reading it, and Rowling's writing seemed to come naturally while you can see that Condie was trying too hard.

And after all of that reading? Absolutely nothing advanced in the story. They went back to being separated, Cassia was still not sure if she loved Xander or Ky, blah blah blah.

I just wish I could have the time I spent reading this back...

I've already bought Reached but I don't know if I'll read it soon, or ever.
fast-paced

I might have rated it higher if it hadn't taken me almost two months to get through, but really. It just couldn't keep my attention for long enough to finish and that's a bad thing.

1.5 stars is honestly where I'd rate this. Mostly boring. There is no real action throughout the entire book--even the supposed-to-be-intense scenes nearly put me to sleep. Urgh.

Skimmed the last quarter of this book because I was so ready for it to be over.

Can authors stop doing this back and forth narrator thing unless they can actually write characters with distinguishable voices? I know Cassandra and Ky are in love, but they are still two different people and each need their own voice.

I'm going to have to be really bored to read the third. Just disappointed in this one.

Time for a reread and I inhaled it.

I liked learning more about Ky but I didn't care for this story.

I love this book, not as much as the first one. But just as beautiful.
