I enjoyed the writing and fresh perspective. He was spot on at times exploring the raw parts of growing up not quite American enough.

Not the book for me-too sarcastic.. Obviously a brilliant guy whose witty observations would make him interesting to watch. I may check out him on one of the tv programs to see what he is like

I highly recommend the audiobook of this one as Eddie reads it himself which really added to the experience.

I found this a really interesting read as it shows the differences that tv shows make and how different things are for some immigrant families and their children. I'm very happy to see Eddie doing well now and being successful.

I went back and forth on this one. There were parts I really liked, and some insights I really appreciated. Then there were the many conversations about hip-hop, basketball, and shoes and I couldn't connect. I'm glad we offered this as an option for our choice memoir unit. It definitely will connect with some of the students. It's not my favorite of the options, however.

Enjoyed the book at first, but then I realized just how rude and a jerk this guy is. Probably would not recommend to everyone.

Funny at times, very different than the TV show. I'd rather eat his food than read his book. His food's GREAT

Wonderful book on the intricacies and complications of growing up in the South. I could definitely relate.
