As I have read this book prior to making an GR account, my review is posted on Amazon^_^

But I do need to add, this is one of Sophie Larks GREATEST books. I literally gasped throughout this book. The sneaky sneaky Mrs. Lark absolutely killed it with this one!! IMO I highly recommend reading, The entire Brutal Birthright series, then the Underworld series Books 1-4 (#1 Ivan, #2 Snow, #3 Roman, #4 Dom). To make reading the Kingmaker series the best experience possible.

5 ⭐️ - “there are crossroads in life where you can either choose the cold truth you see in front of you, or you can choose to chase the impossible dream. it’s only by believing in that dream, and pursuing it, that you can turn it into a living, breathing reality. you must chase the dream to live the dream. otherwise, it will only ever be an ephemeral fantasy in your mind.”

holy fuck. the epilogues had me sobbing. the action. the plot twists and turns. everything about this book was perfect. i will refrain from saying more because you NEED to go into this book blind.

the found family trope remains superior.

THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!! After the previous 13 books plotting for this book, I was absolutely floored and adored the ride. It was a true masterpiece absolutely no lie while weaving all the series together without over complicating the story. I had some guessing but I didn't full get it right.

I feel like this book was the most plot driven of Sophie's books and it was amazing. That being said, the couple is still amazing a hits all the points she's known for and I want from her. The couple filled each others faults and flaws so well to be a dynamic duo just like the parents. I can't say much without spoiling but ahh it was perfect.

tropes: mafia, revenge, hidden identity,
triggers: violence, mafia themes, lying

I couldn't think of a better way to end this series.

I LOVE THIS BOOK. It tied up the series well and has managed to impart such beautiful memories from this group of friends with that well-crafted epilogue.

Initially, I was surprised by the last part in the epilogue because it spoils The Savage if I understood the synopsis of that book correctly. But, honestly, if it means I'm getting another glimpse of these people in the possible epilogue of The Savage, I'm totally down for it. I'll be reading it regardless because Sabrina Gallo is the heroine in that book.

Like most of Sophie Lark's books, I've enjoyed them immensely for the action, mystery, and family dynamics more than the romance itself. Most especially with this book. The romance, in my opinion, did not just take the backseat, it almost felt forced. I didn't care much for it, I couldn't feel the connection and somehow it fell short in terms of inspiring a stronger romantic relationship between the characters.

I loved how all of their lives were interconnected. This book is full of intrigue and I was here for it until the end. I guessed a few things correctly but at the same time, I still encountered some surprising reveals.

In terms of steamy scenes, this had some sexy and kinky scenes that I enjoyed.

Overall, I'd say this was a memorable series for me (despite skipping out on the first book after 7 chapters) because I haven't read a lot of mafia-centered romance novels until this year and this is the perfect match for me. The series vary from being totally mafia-centered to being romance-focused but there are enough bits and pieces in each book that balances the overall vibe.

I never thought I'd enjoy mafia romance, but now I'm addicted to it. This author and her books opened a whole new reading dimension for me.

Thought I'd save a review for the last book of my now favorite series! I've never given one before but I can't contain how much I loved everything I've read. From Brutal Birthright, Ivan, Snow and now Kingmakers, Sophie Lark has managed to become one of favorite authors in less than a week.

First of all having to guess who our Spy was had me almost pulling out my hair, but I'm pleased that my hunch from reading "The Rebel" was correct. The clues sprinkled throughout Kingmakers were great little nuggets to solve this mystery and were an added another layer of thorough enjoyment while reading.

Then our Spy and heroine were the perfect couple to cap off such a long intense series. They're both tenacious, intelligent and badass (as all characters by Sophie Lark are!). Their love story although took a back seat to the over arching storyline of the Spy's mission, it felt like you could still fully grasp how deep their bond was. But what did we expect from the Spy being the child of such a extremely fiery couple? The action was ramped up because the stakes were so damn high! It honestly made me a little scared that this wouldn't be a HEA because the anxiety of not all my favs surviving made my heart race.

The tying of loose ends was definitely my favorite part though. A couple of the mysteries being solved was beyond satisfying as I loved feeling like an actual spy putting two and two together. But finding out where all of our characters ended up and where all of them found their happiness made me the most emotional. Without being too biased, but actually pretty biased, this was the perfect ending to the multi generational stories.

This whole universe has become my favorite one and if I honest, I'm going to be re-reading everything from it for a long time to come. Would highly recommend this everyone who loves mafia stories woven with a great balance of humor, action, steamy scenes and overall great development.

LOVED LOVED LOVED THIS SERIES
