spectracommunist's review against another edition

It gets more harrowing: there's a downfall, a dawn of an artist and yes, revolution. I've even learn some lessons of communism like curbing our materialistic desires, comraderie, etc. I really like the moments that showed aspect-to-aspect art mostly when there's action and dialogues turn off. I liked how the characters cling to their sense of humour no matter how darker it gets.

I didn't care for this one very much, mainly because the author (who is also the main character, as it's a memoir) is so completely unlikable.
