I didn’t care for the narrator of the audiobook & wish I had read the book instead. Great story but difficult to hear. The Canadian government and the church have a lot of blood on their hands.

This book was impressive. The story was amazingly told and all of the characters were so complex and human. It highlighted a piece of history that until very recently has often been swept under the rug. Some of the stories by these five narrators end in tragedy, some in healing, and some in both. I found myself wishing the best for all of them. Sometimes I got my wish and sometimes I didn't.

Good digs into the horrors of Indian schools and the long lasting repercussions they had on individuals and entire communities. She also gives you a bit of hope that while things can never be truly mended for the people who were impacted, they can still find some form of healing and reconnect to the things they lost.
