This was a pretty standard Dom/sub billionaire read. I am hoping to see a little more growth from the characters in the next book because it felt a little predictable. The spice is spicing and the angst is there. Still worth the read.

Trigger warnings, safe words, and rejection fears are real with this one. For a while, in beginning chapters, I felt that this was too much like Fifty Shades. I kept on reading and I’m glad that I did.
The parts of myself, that deal with avoidant personality, had me ugly crying in my head when she got filled with emptiness and lack of emotion to go on. I’ve battled that on and off for years. I absorbed that and felt for her deeply. Now closer to the end, I felt for her for that inner battle of being able to go on and continue detached or whether to end things and her need to go on. To believe him and trust him or whether she could not longer.

I’m rating it so because the writing is so choppy. I was never immersed in the story. 1 full star for spice. Plot if you squint. Also…THIS IS NOT WHAT BDSM IS SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE.

My problem with the book is the whole thing. I only enjoyed it towards the end when the mc revealed her trauma also towards the end when the ex shows up but that was like a total of 12 pages out the entire book
