I was lucky enough to win an ARC of this book early on. I really entered on a whim because I had discovered the author after adding Walk Among Us to my tbr and I am thrilled to see what else they have.
This book felt like a breath of fresh air when it came it to a horror book. Or at least I have not read any like it. All the characters almost felt self aware of what was happening yet still terrified at their circumstances. Almost as if they knew and accepted their fate from the first step into the home.
I won’t say much more, but if you love some paranormal content and body horror please give this one a try!

The language in this book drew the most grotesque pictures in my mind (in a good way). The book left me feeling a bit disoriented in a way that will certainly have me thinking about it for a while

Was the author trying to channel an infant Marcel Proust? The expansive, excessive verbiage didn't work for me. More supernatural nastiness and less bickering, indulgent idiot asses please. Other opinions are available.
