This was my first time reading Pam Godwin, and it will certainly not be my last. The story opens with a disgruntled Tinsley being dropped off at an all-girls reform school by her uncaring business woman mother in light of her recent unsatisfactory behavior, consequently bringing potential shame upon the Constantine family name.

Enter Father Magnus Falke, a catholic priest (who’s over twice her age) and basically head master of the school. He’s known for his ruthlessness, and dedication to the reformation of his students. Which is why he specifically is tasked with teaching and disciplining Tinsley one-on-one so he can keep a close eye on her by her mother.

Lord Jesus (of course) the angst in this book between these two 🥵 I went from hating to loving to hating to loving Magnus over the course of the first half of the book lol. I found Tinsley lovable from the beginning, but Magnus took a little to grow on me.

Once that rubber band snaps FULLY though…. freight train. As much as I hate hate hate to admit it, the angst throughout is a driving force to making the spice that much better. I’d rate it a 4/5 🌶️ overall.

Their connection and growth together, especially from Magnus’s POV is so heartwarming and lovely. Once again, that angst payoff of seeing them interact fully and give into each other is the best.

I’m also interested in the other characters stories as well, which are from books/series written by other authors? Which is really unique and I’ve never seen anything like that. Time to further expand the TBR I guess 🙄😅
