This was fine, but I'm not totally loving the direction it's going in with the more open-relationship/poly situation. I'm into it if Jack's there and directing sexual encounters, but really not personally into Channon going off and dating randoms, particularly as I just don't get a lot from him being more toppy with other people--not my kink for this pairing! I appreciated the switching here, though, and Jack's POV was lovely, though I continue to feel like he keeps being treated like the only one who has made mistakes and been the "wrong party" within his various relationships, and it's actually pretty frustrating how nobody seems to think Nate or Ewan have ever done anything at all wrong towards Jack. We'll see how much longer I stick with this one, as it just seems to sort of be going in a direction that's not to my personal tastes.
I am always so amazed at how far Jack and Channon have come since their story first started years ago. I just love their journey and while I'm sad to be nearing the end, if each new installment is going to be this steamy/emotional/hot/perfection, then I say - bring it on!
Jack and Channon are engaged and in a very good place together now. I love how they just know what works for them and are so comfortable with each other right now. It might not work for everyone - and for many outsiders, it would look wrong or bad or harmful, but it's not for Jack and Channon.
I just adore them, and this book packs all the steam we love for these two, and a lot of feels, and also some first times (which, HA, who knew we could still come up with first times after all that these two have done over the course of 38 installments.)
Also - HI, I NEED VICTOR TO HAVE HIS OWN STORY RJ! He needs his own HEA!!
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

excellent episode
Absolutely adored this episode. The love and sweetness and pure vulnerability from both Channon and Jack were beautiful. This episode truly highlights just how far they both have come in the 2 years they’ve been together. Can’t wait for the next one. And please give me more Victor!

R.J. Moray's writing has captured the complexity and evolving nature of Jack and Channon's relationship in such a compelling way. Even though it's been over a year since I last read a story from Jack and Channon's perspective, I fell right back into their relationship effortlessly as if I'd never left. These men have been through so much together, good and bad, and yet their stories never get stale or boring or repetitive. This episode was particularly satisfying to me because it finally addressed some of the long-standing questions I've had about the types of kink Channon and Jack engage in. Non-monagamy can be a tricky subject in any setting, and though it's certainly not for me in my personal life, I finally feel like I understand why it works for Jack and Channon. I love the way these stories make me question the assumptions I've always made about what "should" happen in a committed relationship, and in a way I feel closer than ever to Jack and Channon now that I've let go of my personal biases.
Seeing how fulfilled Channon and Jack are by their relationship was a wonderful thing, and it made me so happy to know that the two of them are so in sync. The trust they have in each other is incredible, and this episode really highlighted how rock-solid their bond is. Jack spent a large part of the story reflecting about a variety of things, and I enjoyed stepping back from the day-to-day to get a deeper understanding of him as a character. I didn't realize that was something I'd been missing lately, but it added a depth to his interactions with Channon that packed an emotional punch. Channon, for his part, had a surprisingly sweet side-plotline in this story. I didn't expect to get so attached to Victor, but the way his and Channon's time together highlighted what was different about Channon and Jack's relationship put a lot into perspective for me. I am desperately, not-so-secretly hoping that Victor will eventually get his own story, because a man that polite and sweet surely has to have a soulmate out there somewhere.
It wouldn't be a HBND episode without a hefty dose of steam, and boy did Channon and Jack set me ablaze in this one! Surely at some point these two are going to run out of new things to share with each other, but for now I'll happily devour each and every new experience they explore together. Channon and Victor did have some on-page sexy time, but all of it was fully out in the open and agreed on by Jack and Channon. To be honest, every steamy moment paled in comparison to that last night (you KNOW which one), and can I just say that R.J. Moray, you have outdone yourself once again! I'll always be Team Nate-and-Ewan, but I'm possibly even more excited to see all the ways Jack and Channon will continue to grow together.

Jack Nash is the alpha male, dominant, in control. After years spent cultivating a certain image, Jack doesn't do vulnerable, ever. But Jack is getting married, if he doesn't trust Channon, will he ever get past the toxic masculinity he's been internalizing for years?
This new entry explores Channon's polyamory and Jacks vulnerability, with an incredibly hot conclusion you definitely want to read asap.

Trying new things
I really enjoyed this episode! I love that Jack is questioning his own assumptions and beliefs and is willing to expand his horizons, so to speak. He and Channon continue to grow, both separately and together, and that’s a wonderful thing.
I love sweet Victor and hope he finds a man of his own to cherish him soon!
