This book absolutely blew me away. It was nothing like what I expected, which was refreshing. I’ve never been horribly interested into fame/celebrity storylines but Alice crafted this so incredibly beautifully that I couldn’t not enjoy every minute. It has a slow start that snowballs into some breathtaking twists.
I found this book to be so important because of the representation. Angel is a hijabi Muslim and Jimmy is not only a famous singer but is also a Transgender Christian. Reading through the perspective of these two characters came to be quite insightful. Everyone felt 3-dimensional and had real and relevant struggles.
Overall, I learned a lot while reading this book in addition to enjoying the hell out of it!

Probably my least favourite of Alice's purely because I didn't really like most of the characters except Bliss, Jimmy and Lister (how can you not love those three honestly). I feel everyone had really good character growth, I just really disliked Angel until maybe the last 50 pages. I do have a lot to thank this book for though because it introduced me to the amazing writing of Alice back in 2019. I feel I don't connect with these characters the same way I connect with every character in all Alice's other novels and that might me why I don't enjoy this one as much - I related to Jimmy a good few times and Juliet maybe once, but at a personal level I think this story doesn't suit me as well as their other books suit me. I probably will continue to reread because I did enjoy most of this book and it's a real page turner. It just proves that I don't really need characters I connect with to enjoy a book (though that does factor into all of my all time favourites), I just need amazing prose and plot. PLEASE CHECK TEIGGER WARNINGS AS ALWAYS <3
