Thanks to Netgalley.com and Random House Publishers for early access to this title.

There are few poets I enjoy more than Billy Collins, and this book does not disappoint! While many of these poems come from his previous books, there is a good selection of new ones as well. And, as with most poets, some are better than others; however, all are enjoyable and contain that quirky poignancy which is Collin's alone. This is a great addition to your Collins collection, or an ideal place to start if you've never read him before. Highly Recommended!

The thing I love best about Billy Collins is how accessible his poems feel and still manage to feel gorgeous and complex. It feels like drinking fine wine; it goes down easily and delectable regardless of how refined your palette is.

In other words, another incredible collection and worth a read.

Sometimes it's hard listening to poetry read aloud because the feelings are different than if you had read it yourself.

If I had to categorize these poems, I'd say they're about everyday life, but then, they are also about so much more. There is such amazing imagery in every single poem written by Collins. I could see everything he saw, everything he thought, and I was enthralled.

Every time you read - and this can apply to all written words, but especially poetry - you can get something new out of it. Something leaps off of the pages and imprints onto your soul. It can be profound or it can be mundane, but it affects you all the same. Poetry is so poignant and concise. Aimless Love is no exception to this rule.

I had a few favorites. Although they were all wonderful, some spoke louder than others: Absence, Royal Aristocrat, Love, Statues in the Park, The Revenant, Adage, Promenade, To My Favorite 17 Year Old High School Girl, Animal Behavior, and Best Fall.

Some of my favorites were in here, and I laughed remembering when I discovered Billy Collins years ago. This light collection had some good stuff, yet I found myself thinking deeply about how I enjoy his accessibility, but less his voice now. Perhaps it is I who have grown.

I don't often read poetry. My husband,a teacher, was explaining a chance encounter online with a video of Billy Collins' poem The Country as animated (he used it as an example for an assignment in class) once I heard the poem for myself, I wanted to discover more. I found many gems in this book. Poems t hat perfectly expressed my own thought and musings. And sometimes hilarious.
