Shocking, in many ways. It asks what price is woeth paying for justice. It asks how far our relationships with others than our spouses can be love. There is an answer but you need to read to the end to see if you agree with it.

A mystery with a slice of life in Venice, peppered with reflections on the social makeup and history Of Venice with thoughtful reflections on morality.

I still really like the characters, setting, the meals... but the mystery in this one held no interest. I didn't really care who blew up the boat, so stopped reading.

Another enjoyable period of time spent with Guido Brunetti and company. The ending came near to breaking my heart. An interesting look at the insular world of fishermen in Venice, which I have a feeling is not so different from that in many other similar industries the world over. A decent mystery.
