The language was quite simple and modern, unlike the English of classics in general. The ideas were so imaginative that I couldn't imagine how Louis even thought of them!

É talvez a minha história preferida no que toca à literatura infantil.
É um livro que rompe com o modelo literário da época, que utiliza o nonsense como crítica à normalidade e o absurdo como libertação dos padrões vitorianos.
Contrariamente a todas as outras histórias infantis / juvenis, Alice no País das Maravilhas não tem um objectivo moralista, aliás, é precisamente o oposto...think outside the box.
As histórias são curtas e fluídas, lêem-se sem parar.
No fim parece que acordámos de um sonho...muito...muito...LOUCO!

One can think of this book both as fiction (Alice), or as non-fiction (notes), and the notes are as excellent as the Alice's stories, making them even more of a wonderland.

Another classic. There is lots in here that does not make it to any movie version. It is fun to see what is in the book, and be able to judge the movies better. "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?" - definitively there.
