I thought the book would be more sci-fi and was pleasantly surprised that it was very much about love. I loved all the characters because you saw them from different view points, themselves, others, you got a good sense of who they are and what they stand for. I look forward to reading the sequel.

Love the concept but there were a lot of cringey moments throughout the book and the main characters are somewhat unlikeable. I had a really hard time trying to get past the fact that Claire was groomed her whole childhood…. The last chapter had me a sobbing mess.

This is probably one of the most creative books I've read in awhile. About half-way through, I started to wonder how the heck she ever came up with this concept, and how she kept it all straight!

In addition to being creative, it was well-written (multiple points of view--yay!), touching, and extremely engaging. The reason it took me a little while to read is because I knew that if I picked it up again, I wouldn't be able to put it down, so I had to wait for a huge chunk of time to finish it. And it was worth it!

Not a fan of the first half. Too close to a (weird but) standard romance for my taste. The second half was interesting though, once I realized it's an exploration of issues in EVERY marriage (disappointment, loneliness, loss) through a fantasy lens.

Clearly an unforgettable read, The Time Traveler's Wife is an odd story of love between two characters trapped in a web of time. It's hard to explain the complexities of their dilemma: Henry has a genetic disease, enabling him to travel arbitrarily in time - he has absolutely no choice. And, Clare is his wife - his very patient wife..

Somewhere in his mid-forties, he time-travels back to Clare's childhood. Imagine the odds of meeting your future husband butt-naked while you are still six years old! But Clare, the sweetheart she is, was brave and remained friends with Henry until she was 18. She was in-love with him, no matter how out-of-this-world the situation is. She understood him and she endured the days, weeks, and months of waiting. She knew she was going to marry him.

The story started with Clare and Henry meeting in the Newberry library - in Clare's case, 'at last, after a long wait!'; in Henry's, 'for the first time'. Witness a rollercoaster tale of love and waiting in this poignant tale written by Audrey Niffeneger

"Time Traveler's Wife" is another one of those books that people either really seem to love or seem to hate.

I fall into the "really liked it" camp. I became really engrossed in the book from page 1 and couldn't put it down. A great twist on a love story!
