Read this after On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous and I have to say I’ve never read something so refined. Each poem was enlightening in a new way and his use of language unique in a way I’ve never seen before. If you even slightly enjoy poetry I genuinely believe you will fall in love with this book.

leaving a comment with my favorite lines from the book every time i reread this bc one day i’ll run out of highlighter options:
1. let every kiss hit the body like a season
2. I will name our son after this water [ocean]. I will learn to love a monster.
3. some nights you are the lighthouse/some nights the sea/what this means is that I don’t know/ desire other than the need/to be shattered & rebuilt
4. My son, even tomorrow you will have today. Don’t you know?
5. but you’ll never forget yourself the way god forgets his hands
6. in the museum of the heart there are two headless people building a burning house
7. You’re so quiet you’re almost tomorrow
8. Maybe the rain is “sweet” because it falls through so much of the world
9. My hands were daylight all through the night
10. The most beautiful part of your body is where it’s headed

Ocean Vuong your writing will never not make me feel overly emotional. Some quotes really struck me and I just really enjoyed reading his poetry
