This was a delightful middle grade adventure and I am definitely ready to get caught up in Sophie's world and tag along for the rest of her adventures.
While the story overall is quite fun and fast paced, there's still some real pain such as loss of a child, having to leave your family and grief. It's presented in a good way and the story is super intriguing.
Sophie's a 12 yr old prodigy who hasn't quite fit in anywhere. Her ability to read people's mind definitely doesn't help. When a strange boy approaches her out of nowhere, and he can also read minds, she thinks she's finally made a friend like her. Little does she know her life will never be the same again.
While the story overall is quite fun and fast paced, there's still some real pain such as loss of a child, having to leave your family and grief. It's presented in a good way and the story is super intriguing.

Honestly, how is any little girl supposed to see themselves in Sophie, the chosen one to end all chosen ones?
→ A 12-year-old who is a high school senior and has already been offered a scholarship to yale.
→ A girl with no less than three – that we know of thus far! – super rare, super strong abilities.
→ Who has special eyes.
→ And a photographic memory!
→ Aand can instinctively speak any language!
→ Aaand she has every boy at her new school drooling.
At least, her concentration-level is low…
Oh no, that was just her ability being dormant, my bad.

If your looking for a fun time then you should read this. I can not say this is a very good book in terms of quality but it’s so fun. So if your interested in turning off your brain and just oohing and awhhhing for the span of about 11 books definitely read this. If your looking for something of substance I wouldn’t go looking for it here though. Did love this book though.
This book was so great! Makes me laugh, cry of joy, cry of sadness, frightened me. Well, it was really great. The atmosphere really makes me thought of Harry Potter, with a girl ringing out she is not human but an elf (instead of a witch), then finding out that she is special, and going to a big school, etc. And this is not a bad thing, since I really loved this part of the Harry Potter series.
I am just a little bit disappointed by one thing: how every boy Sophie met seems to fall in love with her...
I'll see how this evolves in the next books.
Can't wait to discover what will happen next in Sophie's hectic life!
