I wish there was a little more closure at the end (especially with the in-laws and husband!) but it was still very good.

Felt very similar to another book I just read "Slim to None", so I didnt love this one.

I'm lucky that my migraine attacks aren't as frequent as Viive's are, but I really needed this book. I truly feel understood and less alone.
I was worried that her migraine attacks would just magically disappear at the end. I'm so glad that we got a realistic and hopeful conclusion.

Such a pleasantly surprising read! Loved reading about the Canada-Estonian experience part the most. The way the main character Viive saw herself and her Estonian rootd as 'Scandinavian' was interesting... Not something most native Estonians would do in my experience. The migraine experience was also super interesting to read about and as someone who suffers from headaches very often (less nowadays but way more during high school for example) I found solace in it being treated like the huge hindrance that they are. The book did, funnily enough, give me a headache every time I read it. Maybe from the tension? Don't know. But it was super well written and the translation into Estonian was also lovely to read - drew me in and I finished the book in only 2 days.

A must-read if you suffer from migraines, or if you know someone who does and would like a little more insight in what their life is like.
Suffering from chronic migraines myself, I recognized a lot, from the guilt of canceling yet another apointment and eating too much fast food because cooking is just not gonna happen today, to choosing between having a migraine or a woolly cottonball head all day and "it's just a headache" comments.

I very rarely use this phrase, but this time it's warranted: This book made me feel seen. It's not often that I encounter media that nails what living with migraine is like and this book does it. Thank you, Maia Sepp.
