Almost Adulting: All You Need to Know to Get It Together (Sort Of) is not what I was expecting. I went into this book without reading the synopsis. I was expecting to read something similar to [b:The Girl's Guide: Getting the hang of your whole complicated, unpredictable, impossibly amazing life|22859578|The Girl's Guide Getting the hang of your whole complicated, unpredictable, impossibly amazing life|Melissa Kirsch|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1427161254l/22859578._SX50_.jpg|45156254]. That obviously wasn't the case. Even though Almost Adulting caught me off guard I really enjoyed reading it.
First time I read this I gave it 4 stars. Now re-reading it, I feel like Arden, especially for someone who says they've struggled with mental health, doesn't really understand it very well.
''Realize that your constant anxieties and worries and personal pitfalls are all in your mind and that you are in control, even if you feel a bit nutty sometimes.'' Actually, no, Arden. I am not in control of my anxiety. People who are depressed are not in control of their depression. Just like you weren't in control of your OCD.
