Plain and simple.
Spoiler Will is an ass. How dare that judgmental fuck make Cassie feel bad for the changes she decided to make in herself! He didn't even bother to listen to what she was saying because his pride and ego was too bruised by the fact that she slept with Jean Pierre. I really hope she doesn't forgive him in the next book and completes her S.E.C.R.E.T. lesson of learning to let go, because he doesn't deserve her. And I don't want to see Jessie get his heart broken again.

I think this will be the last one in this series for me. I just can't get into the storyline. This one begins with the mysterious Dauphine experiencing a Secret fantasy. Then it jumps back in time to the beginning to show how she got into Secret. It was very disjointed and hard to follow the time line. It seemed much more like individual little episodes than a cohesive story.

Dauphine's story was unique though. Her journey through Secret was quite different from Cassie's and ended much differently as well. We have a return "bad guy" and Cassie once again loses her happy ending at the last second. Dauphine has quite the fairy tale happy ending and it was just far to easy to be true and it wasn't satisfying at all.

It was very interesting to see more of the inner workings of this secret club. I got to see a training session with a new guy as well as see how the organization is financed. It's too bad that was the most interesting part - I had really hoped for more out of this one.

I was happy that the serie continued where it left. The new girl's journey was interesting to follow but the last fantasy was somehow not realistic. And weird drama in the end of the book. I might still read the third book.

This was a quick light read. I enjoyed reading in my mother tongue for a change. This book should not be taken too seriously, it was fun.

Secret Shared picks up where S.E.C.R.E.T ended. Now, Cassie has new-found confidence and is a guide in the organization BUT this only happened because of the heartbreak she experienced at the end of the first book and continues to experience throughout most of the novel. Nevertheless, her new strength allows her to withstand and come out ahead for the most part.

Dauphine Mason is recruited by Cassie who serves as her guide and the story is told from alternating points of view. Cassie has definitely grown and matured and has become more sexually liberated in this story. And though Dauphine has some self-esteem issues at the beginning of the book, by the end of her journey, she was able to "grow into her skin" (if that makes sense).

Cassie, on the other hand, finally found her confidence but she still experiences profound heartache. However, a testament to her growth is that she didn't succumb to this and revert to her old patterns. I certainly understand how being confident in one aspect of your life can bleed into other facets of your existence. This is how Cassie was able to be a good guide to Dauphine and to simultaneously deal with her issues.

I know that Cassie’s journey isn’t quite over and I’m eagerly hoping that she gets her HEA with Will. l'm certain she'll have lots of fun and sexual adventures along the way to help guide her as she comes into her own.

No Judgements. No Limits. No Shame.

Really torn on my rating for this book. While I loved the premise and lots of the scenes, I feel like this book was poorly executed/written. For this reason, it only gets 3 vs. 4 stars.

One, I liked the character of Dauphine. Her story was compelling but I feel like Adeline rushed her story. Her transformation didn't seem natural. She is controlling and fearful - then BAM! She's a new adventurous person.
SpoilerDon't get me wrong, I’m happy she got her man. The problem I had was it was kinda cheesy how Mark said he saw her in the crowd and thought of her all the time. Seems to me he wasn't thinking of her when he slept with Cassie...

I feel like I need to put the rest of my review in spoiler because I don't want to give the storyline away (predictable as it is, there was a slight twist at the end).

SpoilerOne thing I did like, was the variety of sexual encounters. We get river & mile high sex, a police officer fantasy and borderline bisexualism with the tango dancers for Dauphine. This isn't including the ending with Mark, which is new love. Disappointed she didn't make it "really" through all the steps. I also really liked the scene with Mark, Angela, and Cassie - HOT!

Now for Cassie...she may be one of the major reasons I have a problem with this book. She doesn't seem fully changed, as she is still harboring her feelings for lame-ass Will. Yes, she's loved him and he seems to want her back, but he is having a baby with another woman! I am extremely happy she decided to go for Jesse, but of course she drops him the moment Will is free. I kinda knew things wouldn’t work out but this teaser line:

Had I known it would be the last time we’d spend together, I would never have left that bed or that apartment, and I certainly wouldn’t have washed him off my body so quickly, before slipping back into that beautiful, cursed dress. Cassie, 257

Surprised me and I just had to continue reading at a fast pace!

I’m happy Jesse stood by her and I really hope they have a future together if Adeline writes another book about S.E.C.R.E.T. I have always though Jesse was the better man (and hotter too it sounds like).

Now the future of S.E.C.R.E.T. is definitely at end it sounds like, so I wonder how another book would play out and now especially with the Cassie/Will angle. She certainly can’t work for him anymore and he already decided the name and such of the new restaurant. We’ll see.

The first book was better than this one but I'll finish the series.
