An "intermission" book of an alright series. Cradle was really fun, but this one is maybe a little too silly for me at times. I was dreading more "Lemon" chapters that feel like they were winking at the reader, but that was kept to a minimum. There's a lot of intrigue going on, and while reading I was wondering if this is going to resolve into something actually interesting.

A longer book with some more payoffs may have made things land harder. Just when things were starting to get interesting, it ends.

Omega receiving more character development in earlier books would also have made me care more about the "sad backstory into sacrifice" plot I saw coming from a mile away. If they revive him I will drop the series.

Overall, I'm curious to see where things go from here. Good enough for me to keep going, but nothing jaw dropping.
