This book made me so sad. I have had this book on my shelf for over a year and keep telling myself that I am going to read it but everything I have heard about this book was that it was going to emotional destroy me so I put it off until a day that I was able to be destroyed and today was that day.
This book did not make me cry. I felt like I was going to cry the whole time I was reading it but I didn't cry. As someone who is an avid listener of Rolling Up The Welcome Mat by Kelsea Ballerini and All I've Ever Known by Alexander Kay I knew I was going to love a second chance romance about a divorced couple because divorced women finding happiness after heartbreak is one of my favorite musical genres.
Yasmen and Josiah went through a divorce after going through the loss of multiple members of their family in one year. Since the divorce they have managed to keep a steady coparenting relationship and still own and run a restaurant together. When Josiah starts dating again it draws out feelings that Yasmen and Josiah still have for one another.
This book was painful in a beautiful way. Watching Josiah who never believed in therapy open himself up in therapy to try to learn how to be in a relationship again was something that was so unexpected but so beautiful. The way that they keep coming back to one another over and over as they dated other people showed just how magnetic they are to one another.

This rating does not mean it’s a bad book. It’s a good book, the character are good and writing is strong. I just don’t like second chance romances.
