I think this is the weakest of all three books. Even Polly was beginning to get on my nerves by the ending.

Huckle is terrible. How many times does he need to run away and pitch a fit before Polly sees a pattern? Three, apparently. Yet she still marries him. He’s such a tosser. He’s shown no growth and the only difference between his annoying self in book one to now is his being less of a sarcastic prick. He’s such a child and his mood swings and different personalities are giving me whiplash.
(Also, he’s got an incredibly stupid name.)

Again, Rueben and Kerensa are still terrible... and getting worse! I didn’t like that once we ascertained the baby was Rueben’s, the whole thing was dropped. She still cheated on him. I was secretly hoping it would bite her in the arse but I’ve never liked those two characters so nevermind....

Neil was charming as usual. I liked Bernard too. I want to hear about the Puffin cafe. That would have made a much better story than how Kerensa can’t keep it in her pants and everyone keeps interfering with everyone else’s life.

Speaking of, that awful Selina is back at it... stirring the pot, creating drama just so she feels better about being a complete cow and a total POS. She’s gross.

Also, what was up with the estranged father subplot? The final of a trilogy and this is the first we’re hearing about it... it’s suddenly a massively big deal and it’s not even been mentioned before? Hmmm.

The ending lost me a bit. It was too cliche and I just wasn’t feeling it. I have zero confidence that this marriage will last and I think the whole premise of “surprising” someone with a wedding is incredibly selfish. Ugh.

While I’m disappointed we won’t get a story about the Puffin Cafe, I’m kind of glad this series is over. It had run out of steam. There’s only so many times I can stomach Huckle pitching fits, the childish breakups and getting back together, the complaining about finances... it’s starting to wear thin. I’m glad I read these books. They’re far better than most contemporary fiction but I didn’t like how they changed from Polly exploring baking, moving to a small village, finding Neil, making new friends and finding herself to the Huckle soap opera and the Rueben/Kerensa element. It had gone from light-hearted fun to a “romantic drama” and that just isn’t my bag.

Please don't let this be the last book about the Little Beach Street Bakery. I need more of Polly and Huckle and Neil and Kerensa and even Reuben. Seriously, Jenny Colgan, you can't not write more about Mount Polbearne. These books are perfect in every way!

Rounding up from 3.5 stars.

A sweet, enjoyable finish to the Little Beach Street Bakery trilogy. Polly, Huckle, and (of course) Neil the puffin are back for further adventures. There are secrets and drama along the way, but (no surprise) we get the HEA we've been expecting, and it's a treat to see it all come together. Plus, plenty more of Polly's excellent baking -- yum!

A cute holiday romcom! Quirky setting and characters made this charming world feel very lovable. I particularly liked that we find our love interests at a different stage of life than a lot of romcoms as they've already gotten together and are engaged which made for higher stakes and more complex conflict.

This was a fun Christmas story about friendships and secrets. I found it by searching for Christmas in my library’s overdrive, so I didn’t realize it’s the 3rd in a series of books about these characters. However, I wanted a snowy Christmas story and that’s what I got…and I don’t mind that the plots of the first two books were basically summed up in this one, I don’t regret skipping to the HEA

Nice ending to a cute little series. I’m going to miss Neil.
