Pretty sure this can be classified as fetish porn, which, I mean, if that's your thing. . . go for it. Wasn't impressed with the writing, plot, or characters and found myself cringing through most of it. Heard the movie is good, so I might check that out.
This is probably the stupidest book I've ever read. Never have I ever read such shallow, unlikeable characters in my life.
I came to watching the book after seeing the film. All I can really say is thank god they made severe changes to the film and didn't use a lot of the character traits from the book as well as some of the plot points, cause quite frankly all the characters are heavily unlikable in this. The layout/structure was the only real interesting thing about it.
The film is much MUCH better than the book.

A really interesting concept, I like unreliable narrators and don't care if they're bad people, but it was ultimately so slow and became boring. I should saw that I have seen the adaptation and have heard that the book is better, which it is, the tone is consistent, probably because there's no Anna Kendrick rapping in a car, but I think that the conclusion is better. I think that the blog is actually a really strong device that works well with the idea that everyone is hiding behind a facade. It's more disappointing than anything because it had so much potential only to be boring.

I really liked the idea of Emily getting away with everything and wish that's what the story had done but because they find her ring in the car they'll get her, but rather than it being a step up by Stephanie which would have been great it was just an accident entirely unplanned for even though Emily has been so meticulous. I think that pinning the ring to Stephanie was a bad lie because that can get so easily cleared away versus it being Sean who could have planted the ring with the goal of framing Emily for the death, would've made more sense.

Very predictable and the characters were very unlikable. I am completly shocked that this has been made into a movie.
It was crazy and twisted but I did not like how it ended. It felt like some things were there just for shock factor and didn’t really make sense in the story. I still want to watch the movie though!
I’m trying to process this book and try to understand what I liked about this book and what I hated. First of all I read this book and listened to the audio book alternating back and forth. I enjoyed the audio book. It had different people playing the cast. I liked the blog style part of the book and how it was written to moms. I did not like the way this book was written. I thought the end would have a I didn’t see that coming reveal but it was just meh. The way it was written there was just no excitement and it didn’t leave me on the edge of my seat like these books should have you. It was a fast read since it’s not that long but Overall I gave it a 2 ⭐️ ⭐️ now waiting for the movie to come out.
