Definitely a page-turner! Well written. I wish I would’ve heard more from each of the characters toward the beginning of the book, but I also understand the mystery and intrigue Bell was creating.
The ending left me lacking a little bit. I wanted to know more about what happened to Sean in England and what Stephanie ended up doing too.

Shocked I dragged myself past page 8. I finished, but the time spent on this book is time I'll never get back.
It honestly confused me and I had seen the movie, which also confused me, but it was interesting

Il y a de ces livres qui ont un résumé prometteur mais qui n’atteignent pas les attentes créées. Une petite faveur est un de ceux-là. Si vous êtes amateurs de thriller ou de romans aux mille secrets, vous ne serez pas surpris par les diverses intrigues de Darcey Bell et les chances que vous anticipiez la fin sont très grandes.

Ce livre a un peu mal parti pour moi car, dès le départ, je n’ai pas aimé Stephanie. Son nombrilisme face à l’absence d’Emily m’a fait rouler des yeux et ont enlevé de la crédibilité à l’histoire. Si une amie venait qu’à manquer à l’appel, il y a beaucoup d’autres étapes que je ferais avant d’aller m’en plaindre sur les réseaux sociaux…Stephanie n’est pas le seul personnage que je n’ai pas apprécié. Honnêtement, les seuls que j’ai aimé sont les enfants, Nicky et Miles. Les personnages adultes sont désespérants et c’est difficile de s’attacher à eux (personnellement, je n’ai pas réussi).

This is the rare case where the movie is better than the book. The writing is sloppy and the author tried to bring some VC Andrews-esque intrigue to the story but failed miserably.
The characters are mostly terrible people I’d never want to meet in real life but the story was great.
The characters in this story are simply absurd! I found myself rolling my eyes at them more often than not, yet I still wanted to know how it all played out. I enjoyed the craziness of the story, but I will not be reading this one again, nor will I be recommending it to anyone.
It's true that I selected this book to read because I have seen the trailers for the movie version. I listened to the audio version so I could do other times while listening. I really enjoyed the narrator who voiced Emily. She nailed the blasé, irritated attitude of the character.
This book is advertised towards those who enjoyed Gone Girl, as many books are these days. It's the psychological thriller that has you questioning every character in the book. I love a good psychological thriller. This one fell so short of being good. The main plot was painfully predictable. The first section of the book, the setup if you will, was too long and boring. It was when Emily's voice appears that things started to get interesting. She was twisted and dark and calculating; however, she buckled and strayed from the plan when things started to go awry. It was disappointing. I had higher expectations for her. And I wanted more out of Sean (Shawn? I listened to it so I don't know), too. I wanted him to be the true mastermind of the whole thing, but alas, he was a weak pawn as the man frequently is in these novels.
I may see the movie version of this one... maybe Hollywood took it to where the author didn't.
