This sequel to I am Number Four is awesome! I love that we still get to follow Four and the others are they journey to found the other. and I like that it follows Number seven in Spain as well. i also like that they found another numbers as well. Number Nine and Ten.

This is going to be a short review, since I don't have a lot of time, so here are just my quick thoughts on the book.
- The plot and worldbuilding (i.e. all of the alien lore and stuff) were really interesting.
- Characters were meh. I mean, they were okay, but I'm not going to be including them on a list of my top ten favorite characters anytime soon. I liked Sam the most (always have, really).
- Speaking of Sam,
Spoiler I was actually surprised to hear that his dad had been the one who helped Henri and Four. I didn't see that one coming. Also, if Sam isn't in the next book, I'm going to be mad.

- The love triangle was stupid, forced, and completely unnecessary. I hated it.
- I might read the next book, I might not. I mean, I like the plot and everything, but it takes me so long to get through these...
- Random thought: I bet these would read a lot better as a graphic novel/manga series.

That's all I have to say for now!

Oh yeah, one more note.
SpoilerP.S. Also, for the 2.5 seconds we got to see Nine in action, I thought he was pretty cool. Hopefully, he's in the next book if I ever actually read it

Three stars because I love the story... I just hate the writing. Most of the time, anyway. It's like reading a movie. Sometimes I just want some DEPTH. I'll finish the series, though, definitely.

I really liked this one, probably even more than the first. It kept me riveted all the way through and I finished it in one day. The plot is good and the action exciting.

I liked this book more than "I Am Number Four," which I didn't expect because I usually enjoy sequels less than their predecessors. I like that this story is told from two perspectives and that we are introduced to new characters but still keep up with the old ones. There's plenty of action but it's not confusing--I think the pace is just right. There are some big surprises that helped parts of the first book make sense and kept things interesting. One thing that I didn't like was the love triangle--two love triangles, in fact (is that a love square?). Those almost always get on my nerves because there are just so many of them in pop culture these days and they are often overdramatic. That was my only really big problem with this story, though. The ending left me dying for the next one to come out (unfortunately, the next book, "The Rise of Nine," is not expected until August 2012).

The Power of Six, the follow up to I Am Number Four, was rather entertaining and interesting, especially because we got to see new characters like Seven/Marina
Spoilerand, later on, Number Nine
, as well as their powers.

I must admit I really liked Marina. I get that some may find her POVs boring, but for me they were rather enjoyable, especially because her circumstances were different from John’s, who always had the support of his Cêpan. As for now, Marina seems the most believable character and I empathize with her the most. I hope her character gets more deepness and development in the next volume!

As for John… meh… I loved his scenes with Henri in the last book, there was some emotion and realness there… But now that Henri is gone I’m finding out that maybe I don’t like John that much… Something is missing in his character; maybe more development or motivation, or emotion. He should be the main protagonist of the saga, but I don’t feel like his character is up for that role.

Six could be great, but once again, her character seems too shallow. She kicks some serious ass, which is nice, but we don’t get to see much else about her. It was nice when she opened up about her Cêpan, though. It showed a tender and sensible side of her, other than the action chick.

As for the love triangle/square/whatever between John, Six, Sarah and Sam… just don’t. Six deserved better than being the other love interest. Funny enough, the only thing I found tolerable in all this was Six admitting that she might like John as much (and simultaneously) as she likes Sam. I’m fine with that, this would be new… But then there’s John’s backstory with Sarah, and I never liked her, but hey, you know, Loric fall in love for life…
SpoilerEXCEPT NOT! What’s up with that?! So now we’re supposed to believe that Henri was being a romantic and mislead John into believing he would love Sarah all his life (bruh!)? It feels like the author regretted that idea and gave some poor excuse to get it out of the readers’ minds. Lame.

Finally, I must say that some scenes lacked more build up
Spoiler(like Setrákus Ra appearance – if he’s the big bad boss his entrance should be worthier)
and even emotion
Spoiler(like Héctor’s death, who was very close to Marina (how old is he anyway??))
.

Other than that, great reading! I hope we get to discover more characters and their Legacies in the next volume, as well as getting to know better Six, Seven and Nine! I can’t wait!
