It was a little slow to start. However, it picked up and held my attention. The character development was well done making it a good book overall. I like the main character but am not sure I like it enough to continue reading the series over the other books on my list. I may come back to it later.

This was my kind of murder mystery. Amateur sleuth. Small countryside vibes. So glad to have found this series

I didn't know about this series until kindle recommended it to me and I thought it sounded good. I enjoy both historical fiction and mystery.

I found it very interesting, reading about the medieval monks and about Wales and their journey to retrieve the bones of St. Winifred. The mystery was interesting as well, but there weren't very many suspects. There was a good misdirection, but it became clear who the murderer was after a short while.

The writing is flowery, and I am still confused about one thing in relation to the ending, but overall a very good book and I'm eager to read more in the series.
