Gossipy, slight, completely elusive of the very real harm that Trump's cruel indifference is causing - still, I whipped through this. It's so readable and feels so damn authentic. Of course Trump is that idiotic and emotional. Of course Jared and Ivanka are that fucking clueless. Of course Bannon is that self-regarding. It all hangs together and made me repeatedly laugh out loud at this parade of ill-meaning idiots. Now let's get them the fuck out of the White House, eh?

I'm not a Trump fan by any respects (despise him) but was greatly disappointed in the book. Felt like I was standing next to the water cooler listening to office gossip. I follow the news quite closely and felt the book didn't say anything I didn't already know (that he's an incompetent dork). Who knows truly how much of it's true or not. Lots of editing mistakes in the rush to publish. Wish I would have waited till the price dropped as definitely not worth £11.99. :(

Oy

Writing is kind of uneven but if true (seems like at least the majority is based on 45’s attempts to cease and desist), what we all suspected is accurate: 45 is an idiot who thinks he’s the mastermind leader of the Shitshow; nobody wanted/expected him to win; we are now in a clusterfuck of epic proportions and DEAR GOD WHAT NOW. Midterm elections in November 2018, y’all.

Everything Emily May’s review said. I am critical of Trump, but I skimmed this book because I felt like I was reading a tabloid. Glad I read it so I could decide for myself.

I don’t doubt the level of dysfunction described in the WH, though. It’s both horrifying and funny. As George W. Bush (supposedly) said at the conclusion of Trump’s inauguration speech, “That is some weird shit.”

This would make an entertaining TV series if it weren’t, you know, real life. So. Much. Dysfunction.

What a book. I laughed, I cringed, I wanted to cry. This book was an interesting look in to the Trump White House with surprising facts and quotes not previously published. I feel sympathy for Melania and his child, the presidency was never something they wanted or expected.

“When someone shows you who they are believe them; the first time.” ― Maya Angelou

This quote always comes to mind when I think of Trump and, in his case, it rings so very true.

I was curious as to this book, in part due to the hype, in part for voyeurism. It's not, in itself, a bad book but it's far, FAR from being a superb read. Is it 'fake news'? I personally don't think it is, not when you know how Trump has always been, mainly a narcissistic egomaniac, a lying, a cheating, and yes, a bigot of a man. All of that has been proven in the past so, really, to believe he would have changed by becoming POTUS is beyond laughable. Also, considering the recent events that have happened since the book came out... well, it does seem Wolff's 45 is not too different from the real one.

I do believe that by perhaps trying to appeal to a wider audience, Wolff did himself a disservice, really. His book reads more like a novel than anything else. I can't help but compare it to one of Noam Chomsky's and see where he went wrong.

The claims made in "Fire and Fury" would not be so heatedly disputed had he been more clinical in his approach and less sensationalist. Nevertheless, it does not mean it is purely a work of fiction, far from it. After all, Trump has shown himself to be who he truly is on more than one occasion, and that is being someone unfit to be president.

This is a tawdry and witless Game of Thrones - without the blood. It was both depressing and hilarious. I do think it gives the reader some clue I to the failures of the current administration.

Synopsis: everything is worse than you think. A few appalling revelations (although most of them have been revealed in the media coverage.) i can’t believe this is really happening.
