Spoilery review:
The first 50% of the book is just Auren feeling sorry for herself and when she finally gets her ass in gear she is still useless. I had high hopes for this book but I was kind of disappointed in how much she relies in Slade and how little she can take care of herself still. Am excited about Rissa and Os though!

This book dragggggged for me and I really had to muscle through it, particularly Auren’s chapters. It really felt like nothing happened for 80-90% of the book, which is really unfortunate considering how much longer this book was. I also really disliked the Rissa/Os side chapters as well. The recipe for angry/sassy/traumatized female and infuriating yet intriguing male was identical to Auren/Slade and it felt really repetitive. I thought that whole story line could have been left out. The last 10% was exciting, gave Game of Thrones/High Sparrow vibes.
