Book was very heavy and I could not get into it. Very slow and questionable opinions on women, as is the time period

Book #9 completed for Book Riot Challenge 2016: "A book under 100 pages"
Machiavelli is a dick.

It was good. Not my type of book, but I'm not mad about it.

A refreshing change of pace from more story driven novels, the Prince reflects on human nature and power dynamics. These are interwoven with historical examples, notably recontextualising César Borgia.

Alongside it's well known parameters on how to rule, there is a surprising amount to take away about how to live. These include being present and facing your issues at the earliest possible point, being open to criticism and forming your own opinions, when to take action and not be contained by plans as well as the delicate balance between your peace and need to be challenged to continue learning and growing.

My man was the first OG/OT - Original Troll. Before Ali G there was Niccolò.
