An easily understandable and accessible book to describe the experiences of one deaf person growing up in the 70s. It is funny, and perfect for middle grade. 5/5

As a young adult's book goes, this one was quite well written and can appeal to a wide audience. Cece finds out she is deaf at a young age. Instead of being hindered by what some may see as a disability she decides to turn her deafness into a superpower. A good look into how a weakness can be turned into a strength.

This was such a sweet book. Although it may be intended for younger audiences, I really enjoyed the "pureness." of everything in this from the cutesy colored drawings to the elementary/middle school friend issues that we've all dealt with. I realized from the very beginning of this book that I was very uneducated about the daily struggles that deaf and heard of hearing people have to go through, and I hope that in the future I can be more understanding of their struggles. This book brought forward issues that i'd never thought of, and I feel that I can be a more understanding person after reading this book!

I loved this book so much! I want to share it with every kid I ever meet.

The message is great, the graphics are so fun. I would have loved this in my Diary of a Wimpy Kid era. It's own voices and the author's note is so great.

Overall, 5/5. Can't wait to have my future kids read this one day!

Great book!
