I've been wanting to read this forever, and the popsugar challenge gave me the nudge I needed.
I am hearing, but have an auditory processing disorder that makes some parts of Cece's experience super relatable (I have a hard time distinguishing sounds and rely on lipreading and captions.)

Une BD très mignonne et assez touchante sur l'enfance d'une petite fille sourde (l'auteur quand elle était jeune). Ça ouvre l'esprit sur pas mal de trucs.
great, just great. I feel like this might be the bok that makes graphic novels into a real genre for me. cece bell reels the story of her childhood, how she became deaf, the progression of her hearing aids through elementary school, the social norms she learned to navigate, the tension between hearing, lip-reading, sign language, and watching TV. She did a great job making this novel about the deaf experience approachable, while also making it clear that this is not everyone's experience. highly recommended.
