In this collection of previously published essays by various writers, Michael Lewis looks at government agencies and people who work in those agencies. It’s a clear-eyed look at how what we take for granted makes our lives and country better. Every person who supports the current administration should read this book. We are watching irreparable harm happening to our institutions. I’d use these essays in AP Lang if I were still teaching.

Wasn't totally what I was hoping for but I did enjoy it. The multiple narrators was hard because some were definitely better than others.

Great read for a glimpse of the type of people in the federal workforce. I could have listened to even more stories.

Four stars for its relevancy. Different writers describe unsung government departments. Audiobook is like an extended This American Life episode (in a good way).

Nice little narratives to humanize public servants, but not a deep look at the public sector workforce.
