This book bordered on ridiculous but in the best way possible. It played out like I wish my life would play out with a hot hockey player. Loved every second of it.
I started this one out thinking I wasn't going to be into Patrick's story, but I ended up really liking he and Ari together. Now I have to immediately read the 3rd book because I'm sucked into what's going to happen next. I know it's probably just me, but I still hate that Sarina Bowen men use so many pet names for their lady companions. The "sweetheart" thing Patrick does is so grating.
Likeable BRAD about Patrick (NHL hockey player) and Ariana (team yoga instructor & masseuse). They both have some baggage and there's an interesting side plot that adds into their story.

Not the best of the series. Too many plot holes.
I really like this book, I was curious about it and the synopsis intrigued me. so I bought it, it came In I let it sit for about a day to Finnish off another one I was currently reading and then picked it up. that was a mistake I demolished this book in an hour and lucky enough I had hard hitter and went to town on that one. so safe to say I demolished both books in two hours and wanted more. she captured my attention and dragged me in. I could not put it down this series is going to to epic. I love sports romance for some reason it just appeals to me and these books of the Brooklyn bruisers will definatley make their mark on it for sure. if you hesitated to purchase this book like I did.....DONT, JUST BUY IT! you should be very please with these books.
Oh, man! Several times I almost didn't finish this book. I've only read one other book from this author and it was really good- this one not so much. I found the main characters to be dry and boring. I'm more intrigued with Nate and Becca (actually I have been since book 1 of this series). *clears throat* hint hint... So Sarina please don't disappoint me.
Patrick and Ari were just AWFUL, I felt like the plot was one dimensional and didn't require 30+ chapters, this could have been a novella and been more intriguing.
*hint hint* Whereas I'm expecting big things from Nate and Becca.
Hell even Queen Lauren had my attention more, I'm interested in learning more about why she walks around with a chip on her shoulder.
At this point I'm not interested in reading book 3, I'll hold out from further reading this series until Nate's story. Sorry Sarina, but this one just didn't do it for me. Too cheesy, the chemistry wasn't there, the drama was hyped up only for a quick let down. I was sooooo happy to see this one end. I don't like to not finish something, so that's the only reason I pressed my way through it.
This book earned a 2 only because it teased me about the possibilities between Nate and Becca otherwise I would've given it a 1 or less.

Ari is the massage therapist and yoga instructor for the Brooklyn Bruisers. She's recently out of an 8 year relationship where her ex stopped being a good guy, but she had no idea how deep his bad went. She's all about the healing power of human touch.
Patrick is the team's captain and enforcer. He had a really tough childhood, losing his parents young and growing up in foster & group homes where he had to learn to fight if he wanted to eat. He doesn't like anyone touching him.
But the team doctors insist that he get massages to help with his conditioning - and Ari is smart enough to engage him in his massage therapy in a way that he is more comfortable with.
When Ari's ex starts being a dangerous problem, he finds himself feeling more than just protective of her. As they spend more time together, he realizes that he's learned to appreciate Ari's companionship and her touch, and he wants more for the first time in his life. Ari is still gun-shy, feeling like she still needs to recover from her last relationship, and like she needs to spend some time working on herself.
But as Georgia tells her in one conversation, she's looking at her "relationship" with Patrick with judgment instead of the curiosity her yoga mentor recommends.
Plenty of action on the ice, with a little intrigue (I guess) revolving around issues with the ex. Plenty of steam, sweet dialog too. Plus, I love the way the guys on the team - along with the people who work for the organization - are like family to each other.
