This is a collection of nine short stories set in Moominvalley. Jansson's illustrations are sketchier than usual in this volume, and for once these are less impressive than the stories themselves, which are simply beautiful, and not always clearly for children. Especially subtle are the stories of 'the spring tune' starring Snufkin, 'the fillyjonk who believed in disasters' and 'the hemulen who loved silence'. 'The Secret of the Hattifatteners' at last tells about Moominpappa's adventures with these strange little creatures, something already mentioned in the very first Moomin tale, '[b:The Moomins and the Great Flood|3300083|The Moomins and the Great Flood (The Moomins, #1)|Tove Jansson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1256923501l/3300083._SX50_.jpg|3336834]. 'Cedric' sees the return of Sniff, who has retained some of the nastier character traits from his persona in the Moomin comic books, while 'The Fir Tree' must be the strangest Christmas tale ever. But best of all I love 'The Invisible Child', which is a delicate tale about a traumatized little girl.

Me gustó muchomuchomucho.
4.5 stars. I don’t know how she does it. For the most part (the premise of The Fir Tree seemed to undo the magic of Moominland Midwinter), these stories, featuring imaginary creatures, have such compassion and understanding towards real ones. Remarkable.
