What a solid rom-com.
I understand feedback from other readers in relation to trigger warnings and I do think if you’re sensitive to domestic violence and gaslighting then this may not be quite the book for you.

Naya is a loveable lead, as is her counterpart Jake - but they’re not groundbreaking. I think they could be any number of characters, in any number of stories but you can’t help but to love them anyway.

I think the book moved too fast with some of the peripheral relationships ( Davis and his escalation especially), but all in all a good rom com.

The balance of heavy and light topics was perfection, I can’t believe this was a debut. It was amazing, I truly felt for Naya and Jake, the relationship was mature and believable that it was between two adults. The topics were complex and thoroughly fleshed out and there was resolution to them. I cannot wait for her next book. I loved this book but definitely check out content warnings before reading

This book features: older characters (mid to late thirties), cinnamon roll hero, a heroine with a Ph.D. working in academia, a diverse and protective group of friends on both the hero's and the heroine's side.
