This book was a lot shorter then I remembered. Like it’s just a short story to tie the events of 4 & 6 together. I still really enjoyed it. Suze & Jesse figuring out their feelings and all. It’s just a lot faster of a book then I remembered.
Moderate: Death
Minor: Alcohol, Sexual harassment, Blood, Sexual assault, and Violence

The pacing of this series as a whole grates on me. While I'm excited to finally be getting to the grit of the plot and have an overarching villain, the... existence of Paul the way he is sort of. Ruins things. The dissonance of having an overt villain – the only of the series so far – and presenting/writing him as a love interest??
(To be clear, I am not personally reading him as a love interest, but the series is written in a way that presents a pattern which defines certain characters as Love Interest, which is a whole problem in its own right.)
Anyway, the actual ghost/mediating plot of this installment was barely a whisper I couldn't care less about, the Jesse cliffhanger of the previous book took literally the entirety of this book to resolve, and Paul's overall stalky/harrassment vibe (that's supposed to be hot in a scarey way i guess??) ruined the majority of this one. And it didn't even advance the overall plot at all; we got virtually no answers about Suze's abilities. I'd give it 1 star because I was genuinely uncomfortable reading this one, but I'm assuming it functions as a sort of prequel for the series climax.

A brawl typical style/detail of the series but no hospital visits. Brief attempted drowning. On the minor sexual assault:
