I don't even know what to say other than I love Jean Moreau with my entire heart. Throughout this whole book, all I wanted to do was give him the biggest hug. He broke my heart several times, whenever we get a glimpse at the amount of pain and trauma he carries. I truly want nothing but good things for him and for him to be happy.
It was so different not being in Neil's POV or being around the Foxes. I missed them a lot and cherished every little cameo. Loved the Neil scene at the end. I loved getting to see how Jean views the Foxes and to see certain events through his eyes. I read this immediately after finishing the original trilogy and despite there being a decade between releases, this felt so cohesive and like a natural continuation for the story.
I like the Trojans. It's a little jarring how different they are from the Foxes and how they are unaware of the truth around the Moriyama family. I really like Jeremy and his patience with Jean. Already, it's so clear how much he cares about him and his well-being.
I really enjoyed reading this and getting to know Jean. I feel like the next book will be a shit show, due to Neil's actions. I'm curious to learn more about Jean and Jeremy, plus seeing the Foxes continue to pop up.
