It was such a pleasure to be back to the aftg universe.
In this book we get to meet a mostly new cast of characters and, even if they weren’t the Foxes, I absolutely loved them.
I adored that we got two different povs and both Jean and Jeremy were amazing. It broke my heart to read about everything Jean went through and I deeply appreciated how the golden court players were there for him; there was no better place for him to go to learn to live again.
I also loved that we got to see some of the events that happened in the last book from Jean’s pov, it was so interesting and eye opening; I love Neil but he’s so unreliable.
I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next and to delve deeper into these characters.

4,5 stars. Due what the hell. I did not spend a whole 8-11 hours of my day reading this only for it to have that much of a crackpot ending. I love jean and love that we got to see his perspective on things even before Eiko died because i think that was important to how his character and all the trauma he cant let go off yet. But I’ve been reading for so long and its so abate that my eyes hurt and i feel like i just imagined that ending cexause what the frick happened with Neil. And will they be in danger in the next book ? Him, jean and Andrew?? I guess well find out this winter but actually what the flip dude like what, this whole book was so unserious from the beginning because of the whole yakuza mafia stuff but to see it handle the whole Grayson debacle with such care makes me happy that Nora is a writer. Cuz consent is a big factor in this book and jean asking for Cody’s wellbeing broke my heart… I actually hates Lucas with every fiber of my being so he is not redeemable in any way shape or form but im happy that Jeanie starting to find more friends with the Trojans and is opening up more. Ill be on y toes until the end of the year when the next book comes out. Until then, ichirou when i catch you ichirou…. He better not try anything. Thank you for joining my passive aggressive yapping show, good night.
