✨my top books of 2024✨

Who is Jean Moreau when he is not a Raven?

Reread March 2025: Jean Moreau has suffered more than Jesus.

~~~
First Read April 2024 (5/5): This book is fucking dark. I think it’s probably the darkest book I’ve ever read. It takes a brutally honest look at what someone would become after years of physical, psychological, and sexual trauma and abuse.
After your demons are dismantled, after your monster is murdered, who do you become?
In typically Nora fashion she doesn’t shy away from any of it and tackles these subjects head on in what is without a doubt one of the most devastating books I’ve ever read.
I can’t say it’s a book I’m excited to revisit in the future, nor can I say I’m excited to read more, but there is so much simmering underneath (specifically with mr. sunshine himself, Jeremy Knox) that I will say I am interested to see where it goes from here.
Pre-read: Some final comments before I start this book: I’ve had minimal spoilers, thank god. The only two really have been that Jean 100% had feelings for both Kevin and Renee and hates being bisexual and that Neil is characterized as being crazier than Andrew which is both hilarious and incredibly correct. They’re both crazy, don’t get me wrong, Neil’s just more unhinged about it bc of his temper imo. I’ve also been spoiled in the sense that I know there is no explicit romance in this novel but there are hints.
The concept of this novel is so incredibly interesting to me because how does a boy who only survived the final draft of the last book (by all means he should be dead) how does someone like that continue living? I guess I’m about to find out.
~~~

Update 3: Word on the street is that this comes out April 13th so guess I’ll be reading the entire godforsaken series that weekend…

I hope the cover is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen. Just straight up like how a child would draw the sun.

~~~
Update 2: Every day I log onto Twitter fearing for my fucking LIFE. Like, what do you mean it’s going to be two books now?
~~~

Update 1: Dual pov?? Oh, this book will not be good for my mental health.

~~~
Someone please say sike right now…
Obsessed is an understatement for how I feel about the fact that there is new AFTG content. 10/10 decision from Nora Sakavic. I loved this!!! The Ravens are insane! Can't wait to read more about Jean!!
