I love books where the main character is a dog. This one was okay. I give it 3.5 stars. I found it a bit slow, with not enough character development.

I've lost my mind! I knew, knew, KNEW that this book would have my tears duct working overtime. I'm a sucker for animals, especially dogs. And this story about woman trying to get back home and looking for her dog and dealing with loss got me in the feels.

I enjoyed this book, which surprised me a bit after getting the book from the library and reading the description in more detail. Not really up my alley genre-wise, but heck, one of the main characters is a dog. 'nuf said.

Read the description and make up your mind.

Not bad. Not as good as One Good Dog. The audio version is done well. There are two narrators, one for Justine and the other for Mack and general narration.

I liked it.

The plot of this book is very reminiscent of another book by this author "A Man of His Own" with a dog being torn between 2 families that both love him very much.  I wanted it to work out so that everyone got to keep him but we know that's not possible in the real world

This was a very emotional story and I loved every minute of it.

This book was an emotional roller coaster for me... I absolutely loved the ending, done perfectly! I was skeptical at first that this book was going to make me cry like a baby because a dog named Mack, gets separated from his owner... There were many characters in this story who I felt my heart aching for, but was compensated when happy moments shortly followed... I just know by the time I reached the end of the story, I had a giant smile on my face!

OK. Not nearly as good as her first book, One Good Dog.

This was not abandoned because I could not get through it, but rather because it was the book club pick for the month before I got married. I just did not have the time to finish it in time. I read a few chapters, and I liked them enough that at some point, I would like to go back and finish this book.

OK...I enjoyed this book. But I have to admit, I really liked the characters of Alice and Ed better than Justine. And although I know Mack/Buddy belonged to Justine, and that she really did love him, I wanted him to stay with Alice and Ed. But then I thought if I lost my dog, and then found him, I wouldn't want someone to think I shouldn't have him because they didn't like me. So in the end, all was good.
