Again, I am amazed with Riordan's effortless ability to introduce new character, upon new character, into an already solid series. This time we meet the Bianca and Nico di Angelo, two new half-bloods, but we also get a close look at the other gods and goddesses.

I am completely trapped in the storyline and find it difficult to put this book down for even a moment. And if you read this and don't laugh when they reach Hoover Dam, well then I feel very sorry for you and you might want to consider getting your pulse checked. This is by far the funniest installment in the series to date.

You’ve never read teenage angst and yearning like this! Percy and Annabeth are separated for the majority of this book, YET WE GET THE MOST PERCABETH. Incredible. I’ve always preferred the summer vibes of the other four books in the series to the dark, wintry ones found here in The Titan’s Curse. HOWEVER, I’ve come around to FULLY appreciate this linchpin in the overall series. Oh, how the tides turn (lol ocean pun intended) here! We get Thalia making tough decisions, Percy stepping into the prophecy on his terms, Luke being a weirdo psychopath, Nico making his grand entrance and throwing us a curve ball, Grover making progress in his search, Dionysus being HELPFUL, Annabeth and her dad being badasses, and a deranged Frenchman(ticore) attacking teens! What more could you want? Truly a great book that serves as a perfect turning point in the series!
