Anyone who knows Casey, is well aware of the fact that she can make you either pee yourself with laughter, or break down in tears.
Usually it’s one or the other for me, but this woman definitely knows her craft as she made me sob and laugh, sob and sob some more.
As someone who has lived in Edinburgh for a good while, it was fantastic to not only read Her Lifeline in a Scottish accent, but to hear it when sounding it out. It’s definitely a more entertaining book.
I fell in love with every character the moment I met them, so all the circumstances that surrounded the book were completely heartbreaking for me, not that I didn’t expect anything of the likes, I just didn’t see it coming that hard.
I absolutely loved H and H, I felt from the beginning that they had a special connection and was so happy to be right (I’m always right, though). What I didn’t see coming was a HUGE plot twist that completely threw me off, but made me understand so much more.
I adore L.A. Casey’s writing, and I can’t wait to read more, even though the last pages made me want to rip out my heart and send it to her.

I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting. The pace of the story and the slow burn change from hate to love was perfect and felt very believable. Reading Scottish accents was hard on me, and I think I would have enjoyed this book even more in audio format.
Received copy for honest review. I was intrigued by the plot when I read the description. I love a good childhood crush rediscovered type of love but this one didn’t grab me as tight as I’d hoped. The book started in a way that rocked you and ended the same. Happily ever after but not really. I enjoyed the reality of the characters situation but I still hoped for a different outcome. I understand the book is supposed to be based in Scotland but to be honest it could have been California or Vermont. The random Scottish dialogue was weird and I didn’t enjoy that at all. It took away from the book in my opinion. It was worth the read but I would read it a second time. I found myself skimming pages which is never a good sign for me. If you like the author I’d say read it. If you’ve never read the author before start with something else. #netgalley #lacasey #herlifeline
A little bit of everything
I wasn't prepared for this book. It takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. The love, happiness, sadness, pain, joy, heartbreak.
Have a tissue ready.

I Was Not Prepared
This book takes your emotions for a ride. Have tissues ready and get ready to ugly cry. Lee is by far my favorite author. She has the way to captivate you and suck you into her writing. She did not disappoint this time. Erin and Ward’s story is one of loss, pain, but most importantly, healing. Loved being able to see the growth in each character. Seeing how they each deal with their own, horrific demons. Loved the way that Erin and Ward came together. This book has my thoughts are all over the place. Lol. The twists and turns this book throws at you. As simply as the title of my review... I was not prepared. Take the time to read this. We can even go through it together.

3.5⭐️ Wow I did not realize how sad this book was going to be.
4.4 stars
I love it when a book surprises me. Especially, when it is so much more than the blurb. This book had a great blurb too. Fantastic characters, story, and outcome. I enjoyed the fact that the author stayed true to the language and didn't try to keep this in standardized English especially considering the location.
My only real complaints were in regards to Tara, the stepmother, and Aiden's mom. I wanted that fleshed out more. I was left with a lot of questions. Otherwise, very enjoyable story.

One of the best! This is a book you cannot go past! Well worth the read...spoilers in this review
Where do I even begin with this story. The way it started was heartbreaking and I felt so sad for 11 year old Erin and her family! Losing Ward as well, even though he only moved away was hard for a young girl to comprehend.
Fast forward 11 years an tragedy strikes again! Her brother has a car accident like their dad! Her mum is an alcoholic and blames her for everything even getting physical.
As heartbreaking as this story was at all the loss, it was such a beautifully written story as well. There is light she on why Ward left and the abuse that and even his dad suffered at the hands of the step mother, and whilst this issue is triggering for some, I'm glad it's written and talked about. We hear all the time about the abuse women suffer, but we don't often hear about the abuse men can suffer too.
The love that Ward and Erin have now came out of something tragic and I think Tommy chose the time he did to pass because he knew Ward was there to take care of her.
This was my first book by this author and as much as I cried, I did love it, thank you so much for writing it!

Okay, I cried like a baby and I don’t usually do that. Very beautiful story about loss and forgiveness, heartache and healing. My heart is breaking over this story.
