This is an old fashioned sci-fi book that was written in 2010 instead of 1960 where it seems to feel like it should belong, which has both pros and cons. Pros, it has some amazingly cool ideas that it spends most of its time exploring to some extent or another. Cons, it has a... woman problem. The Author doesn't seem to understand or trust them, and has made one his main character in spite of this, which makes this book incredibly frustrating to read at times.

Also, the book has the bullshit politics of a conservative chud trying to pretend he is not a conservative chud, and that also makes the reading experience painful.

On the other hand... those cool ideas really ARE cool as shit, and they carry the whole experience. The last 50 pages basically made the whole rest of the experience worth it for me, and the rest of the experience had plenty of fun moments along the way.

I can't wait until ten years from now when somebody makes the *Dune* to this books *Foundation* and re-interprets all of the ideas of this novel but in cooler and more interesting and less politically weird ways. Also maybe good female characters, that'd be nice.

Glorious. Utterly compelling. It's been a long time since I stayed up into the early hours of the morning because I could not put a book down.

Telling at once a personal story while exploring the well trodden but awesome concepts of time. I felt like this universe lived and breathed and loved in a way the previous books scraped at. This has broken through.
