Really enjoyed this book, I could not put it down. Gray and Livia are so perfect together but they have so much to overcome before they can be truly happy. I cried, ugly cried. So happy that they get their happy ever after. There are so many twists and unexpected turns. The Colloway brothers are great and I look forward to reading more.

Wow, I don't even know what to say about this book. Just read it!

This is the first book in the Calloway Brothers series and although all could be read as stand alone stories, there are references from this book in the next one.

Livia and Gray were madly in love and just 24 hours after his proposal she was married to another man. 5 years later, fate brings them back together and what a story.
Gray's persistent pursuit of Livia back then was a force, but now, he will stop at nothing to get the answers he feels he deserves from the woman that broke his heart all those years ago.

It's a heart wrenching story of two lost souls that find happiness in the end.

I haven't read a story like this in a very long time and it really nurtured my obsession of fate and that if you are meant to be, no matter how much time has passed, what life has thrown at us or the type of person we inevitably become due to circumstance... Someway, somehow, they will be together.

4 - 4.5 stars!

This is my second book by this author, and I'm really loving her! I haven't been reading as much lately, and honestly, I'm not really in the mood to write a review worthy of this book.

So we will do it ghetto style...

Loved:
*Both the H & h
* Their story.. aspects of it I hated (like the time apart from another) but the love they have for one another is magical. I could feel it while reading. Thats the type of romance I crave to read.
*It wasn't too angsty. It had the potential to be full of angst, but thankfully there wasn't any unnecessary drama/anxiety.
*I love this writers style. She knows how to inject humor, can write some steamy sex scenes, and can deliver an amazing love story.

Disliked:
*The time apart from one another. It's part of the story; the author would have had to write a completely different story in order to eliminate this. It's just an issue I have. It makes me sad/angry when a story has the time apart.
*It has a love triangle-ish. That makes sense right?
SpoilerOkay... so during the time apart, the h meets the H's disowned brother. She doesn't know this; the brother doesn't know who she is. The brother takes care of the h for years and saved her life many times. Because of that, they have a relationship. It's love triangle-ish because the brother loves the h, but the h is in love with the H. The h admits to being attracted to the brother (remember, she didn't know who he was) and loves him but isn't in love with him.

Sorry for the crappy/ghetto review. Check out the author though. I will slowly but surely be reading the rest of her books.

Once I got into it, it definitely became a page-turner for me. The writing is good. This is the second book I've read by this author (the other being Black Swan Affair), and there are definitely similarities between them:
-The plot hinges around a catastrophic event that is covered up in secrecy
-A character is forced into a marriage they do not want
-The storytelling switches between the male and female POV as well as jumping between past and present
-Big seeds of doubt are planted regarding the male lead's character
-There's a bit of a love triangle

Personally, I felt that the catastrophic events in this book were too unbelievable, and one reveal in particular made me laugh out loud because it was just too silly and actually unnecessary. First,
Spoilerit makes no sense that the mob boss would actually marry her if all he wanted was a woman to abuse. But the author needed the marriage to happen in order to create miscommunication later on in the book.
Second,
Spoilerthe twin brother reveal was ridiculous. How could she not have noticed they were related all those years? Why couldn't they just have been friends at one point? What does them being twins serve to the overall story? Oh wait, it's so the series can be about brothers *eyeroll*
I felt there was a missed opportunity to have more of a love triangle there, too.

As of right now, I don't think I will continue on in the series, mainly because the storytelling and plot devices that are used in her books just aren't my thing. But if you like those kinds of things, then I would recommend her books without reservation.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Oh, how I love the Colloway Brothers!? Having already read Undeniably Asher and flat out falling in love with one brother, hearing Gray's story and POV of his relationship with Livia was much needed as I only had bits and pieces up until now. These two are so truly in love and struggling through life without each other, yet the secret in their past may just be too much to move beyond. Livia's story was torture to hear in detail, I cried my eyes out reading this book, falling for both Gray's sincere determination to get her back and Livia's strength in trying to keep her past from tearing them apart once again... Highly recommended series and author!!!

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last of her contemporary romance works that I read. This book was included in my KU subscription so I thought there was no downside to giving it a try. Going into this book with no expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed the writing, the characters and the story. It is an emotion filled story of second chances. This book will have you on a roller coaster. While the first in a four book series about brothers, this could be a stand alone book.

I will be back to see what this author has in store for the rest of the series.
