I'm tired and up too late in the early hours in the morning because I had to finish this, and maybe I'll write a proper review when I've slept and I've thought about it and feel alive again, and maybe I'll like it more than I already do or maybe not so much. I don't know yet.
An anthology that explores intimacy and connection in a disconnected world and offers an unconventional take on the theme of loneliness. In a deceptively casual tones, Miranda July provides a collection that follows its own rules. I enjoyed nine out of the sixteen stories - a few resonated with me, some were funny, and some made me sit in my discomfort. The collection features unique characters engaging awkwardly in offbeat scenarios, sometimes too remote and sometimes too intimate. It maintains a calm yet disturbing atmosphere, making it uncomfortable yet somehow comforting. An acquired taste, but one of the collections I mostly enjoyed.
