This was recommended to me so gave it a try! Not a fan of books that go back and Forth chapter to chapter, however this was not a book you wanted to put down in a hurry! Soooo many moments of 'I didn't see that coming' totally enjoyed it and did not predict the ending! Lots of shocking twists and turns in the story! Just when you thought there couldn't be anymore another would happen! One of the most enjoyable fiction books I have picked up in a long time
Did not enjoy this one. read for book club. The summary sounded promising but within the first few pages I knew it'd be a chore to read.

This was not what I was expecting. I thought I was picking up a mystery, and there was a mystery element. In my opinion that is not the main focus. This felt more like a contemporary literary novel that focused on the characters development and interpersonal relationships and development. In particular the two sisters it focuses on. This did an amazing job of showing that well, while mixing in a mystery element to keep the story moving and adding suspense. Not what I normally read, but really enjoyed

I read this on holiday and would say that it was the perfect holiday read. I read it in the paperback version which added to the whole reading experience which I really enjoyed after having read a lot of eBooks lately.
I really enjoyed the development of the characters in this book especially the main character Katie and how she unravels her life whilst unravelling the mystery of her sister's death. The idea of travelling with Mia's journal was brilliant and really added to the whole story. I felt like I had been to those places in my armchair.
I've definitely found a new favourite author.

Swimming at Night by Lucy Clarke is a captivating read. I was swept away by this story of two sisters: the older one, Katie, being the responsible sister and the younger one, Mia, being the reckless, travel-hungry sister.
Leaving her life in London behind, Mia leaves to travel the world with her best friend, Finn. One night while Mia is traveling, Katie receives a knock on her door with bad news – Mia is dead. . . and it looks like suicide.
The only way Katie can move on is to find out what happened to Mia. She takes Mia’s travel journal (given back to her after being looked at by the police) and embarks on her own journey, following Mia’s path.
The trip forces Katie to grow up, move on, and become a better person, all while learning more about Mia.

Interesting turn of events at almost every corner, turning it into a bit of too unbelievable, but still, a nice read.
I had a hard time getting into the story since the writing was quite confusing, later one, the story was good enough to let me just forget that, but the writing is not that amazing, could be way better.
