Marriage of convenience is one of my go to genre & and Catharine Maura really did a good job with this one.
Though there was a point when Lucian said he’d marry Elena I was like “oh no don’t be just like her other book”. But thank god it was different than what happened in The Tie that Binds.
I also liked that Lucian’s character is gay and how Alec whole heartily excepts him no questions asked.

3 is probably too high…..but sub-3 didn’t feel right. Idk I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, but it’s readable. It needs to be an hour shorter though!!

This book was unnecessarily long. It should’ve ended at 380 pages. And it was ok until that point. The big climax was Elena getting everything back. It needed to be tied up nicely there. The ups and downs of Alec and Elena were so drawn out after that point.
