Good book. Pulls at your heartstrings but definitely is worth the read.

Oh yes, I cried and I rarely do that with any book or movie. Even if the plot was predictable, and the atmosphere and ending are a little too picture perfect, even if Hannah's writing style is like buying organic food because its the 'in' thing to do, you still 'feel' better for having eaten healthier food.

Despite its weaknesses Kristen Hannah delivers very well developed, memorable characters whose responses to life are genuine, especially
SpoilerJude's state of grief
and you are left with a feeling that it definitely was not time wasted.

I give this a 3.5 stars, for the author's ability to invoke strong emotions without being overly sentimental. Kristen Hannah has a fine sense of balance of what works and what doesn't. She makes this tragedy with the power of redemption really work.

Holy. Shit. This book was an emotional rollercoaster. Talk of love. Death. Infertility. Teen pregnancy. All of it. So good and so powerful. Absolutely beautiful. I adore Kristin Hannah.

Kristin Hannah has done it again. She has made me cry and miss sleep. Not just cry but sob like a baby. This book profoundly affected me. I lost my daughter. While I sincerely hope that the author has never gone through the loss of a child, Kristin Hannah has clearly identified what’s it’s like to be a mother. She always finds a way to make a story a relatable. She knows how to put the darkness of human pain and the depth of love into words. Thank you Kristin Hannah.
