Every time I pick this book back up I get frustrated with how compliment this supposedly hard-as-nails, live-on-the-streets enforcer is. She is constantly making absolutely dumb choices that should have gotten her killed and only by being pulled out of the fire continuously by men who are mysteriously attracted to her can she keep going. I just don't believe she could have lived to adulthood in this world with such poor decision making skills.

I cannot finish it. Maybe I'll go back if I run out of other books to read.

Enjoying the series. It’s action packed. I like our lead & side-characters.

The pacing in this book was odd. I felt the main story arch was resolved about 75% of the way in, and the rest could've been at the start of the next book. So even though the book was plenty long, it felt too short. But I still love the characters and the world, and can't wait to read the next one!

How is it that she gets into so much trouble yet still lives. This series is going so well.

There wasn't as much intrigue and suspense as there has been in other books. It almost felt run of the mill and while it was still great I feel like this one was missing a spark.

4+ stars.

This one was paced a bit differently and felt a bit short. The Resistance climax happened comparatively early in the story and the rest of the story was more about the MC learning about her previously unknown familial history, her relationship with her friends, and her romantic relationship. It included some adult times, as well.

I didn't care for the next-book non-cliff hanger at the end of the book. These things always feel manipulative to me. It was well enough done, however, that I didn't feel like I was getting hammered to buy the next book.

Short novel, best to read all chronicles together in one go. More enjoyable since almost all end on cliffys.
